Commercial Solar Financing Solutions

There are several financial incentives that make deploying solar energy a win-win for business and property owners allowing you to reduce costs and generate an additional revenue stream.

The most common financial solutions utilized by businesses and commercial property owners are capital purchase or bank financing (direct ownership), solar leasing, and Power Purchase Agreements (PPA).

Solar Joint Ventures LLC will work with you during the feasibility assessment to determine which financial solutions are most appropriate for your long-term success.

Solar Ownership

Direct ownership of a solar energy system has many benefits. Under a direct ownership model the business or property owner purchases the solar PV system outright using the appropriate mix of debt and capital funds. Frequently, the combined benefits of positive cash flow coupled with aggressive tax incentives delivers attractive investment returns.

The combination of federal and state tax subsidies, state financial incentives such as SRECs and Net Metering, make owning a solar energy system a win-win for property owners. Solar ownership can be a very sound business decision with several benefits.

Solar Lease

Under a solar lease financial model, the business or property owner acquires the solar array via a capital lease or operating lease. These financing methods are quite common for businesses that prefer to deploy their capital in other areas of their business. Solar Joint Ventures LLC has built a "bankable" financing model with the state's SREC (Solar Renewable Energy Certificates) and SREC II programs. Traditional lenders, local banks, and third-party investment sources are increasingly more comfortable with the dependability and predictability of SREC revenue to secure financing. Third-party investment firms have emerged and are working with businesses both to provide loan and leasing products and as owners of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

Benefits of a Solar Lease:

  • No up-front capital costs
  • Reduced Energy Costs
  • Predictable ROI
  • Improved Property Values
  • Additional Revenue Streams
  • Brand Enhancement
  • Environmental Leadership & Sustainability
Solar Joint Ventures LLC offers a number of different PPA solutions

Whether it's an on-site or off-site solution, a Solar Joint Ventures LLC PPA Solar Energy Solution can help to significantly reduce your organization's operating costs - allowing you to spend more money where it really matters. Solar Joint Ventures LLC offers a number of different solutions for organizations to participate in solar:

On-site Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)
The "customer" is the end user of the energy, and a solar system is installed on their facility - the building roof, land area or parking at the property. In this case, Solar Joint Ventures LLC develops, finances, engineers, installs, and maintains the system. The customer will enjoy substantial cost savings, and avoid up-front capital outlays.
Site Lease
Solar Joint Ventures LLC develops solar systems on commercial roofs and/or ground sites, and enters a site lease agreement with the property owner. In this case, the power can be consumed on-site to an occupant who leases the building, or a customer in a different location can purchase the solar power credits.
PPA benefits
The benefits of PPAs are clear for both sides: The ownership entity is able to take advantage of the financial incentives over the life of the system, and the organization is able to significantly reduce its operating expenses by using a lower-cost renewable energy solution.
